Dashcam video shows police-involved shooting in Aventura Mall parking garage

Kenneth Taylor, 19, accused of stealing car, trying to run over officer

AVENTURA, Fla. – Newly released dashcam video shows a police-involved shooting from May inside a parking garage at Aventura Mall.

According to police, an officer spotted the couple May 13 in a Honda Accord that was reported stolen in Hollywood.

Police said the officer ordered the suspects out of the car, but Kenneth Taylor, 19, took off in the second floor of the parking garage near Bloomingdale's, nearly hitting the officer.

Police said Taylor struck the officer's vehicle, as well as a number of other vehicles in the garage and a garage pillar.

Police said the officer fired one shot at the suspect, striking him in the arm.

The video shows Taylor lay on the ground as responding officers arrest him at gunpoint.

Taylor was taken to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later released from jail on bond.

A woman who was also inside the car, Quantazesha Moneisha Clark, 19, was arrested on an active warrant. A Miami-Dade County judge later released her on her own recognizance and told her to find better friends.

Taylor was most recently arrested on July 16 in Plantation on multiple charges, including grand theft auto, burglary and grand theft of a firearm.
