Car falls 30 feet from bridge, lands on its roof in Deerfield Beach

Man not seriously hurt after fall near East Hillsboro Boulevard

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A man was taken to a hospital after his car fell about 30 feet from a bridge, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue officials said.

It happened at 3:20 p.m. Saturday when the man lost control of his Nissan pickup.

BSO deputies said the man tried to overcorrect it due to rainy conditions and went over the rail of the bridge at 1800 East Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach.

Deputies were able to pull the man from his pickup within minutes of the accident occurring. Fire Rescue officials said there were no serious injuries after the car landed on its roof.

The man was taken to Broward Health North as a precaution. Deputies said no one else was hurt in the accident.

The bridge was open to vehicle traffic, but is closed to marine traffic.
