PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Records show rodent droppings were found inside the kitchen of Little Tokyo, a restaurant that is located in the food court at the Pembroke lakes mall.
Records show a roach issue was also found at SLS Hotel on South Beach.

The hotel issued the following statement to Local 10 News: "We are committed to keeping a safe and clean environment. We were aware of the isolated issue that occurred that day and took immediate steps to ensure the safety of our guests. Our team was able to quickly take action, implement the solution, and be approved to welcome guests the following morning."

Michael D. Lyons, the senior general manager of the mall issued the following statement to Local 10 News: "The safety and well-being of our guests are of paramount importance to us. Food vendors, whether at a mall or elsewhere, have a responsibility to operate under the highest of health and safety standards. We support and cooperate fully with all health department inspections of food vendors. Any time a violation or infraction is discovered, we require and expect our food vendors to take immediate corrective action. Little Tokyo was able to quickly come into compliance and re-open within 24 hours."
