Coyote prowling west Boca Raton neighborhood caught, euthanized

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control says someone appeared to be feeding coyote

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A coyote that has been prowling west Boca Raton and snatching dogs was caught and euthanized, a trapper with Bandit Wildlife Management told Local 10 News.

Paul Zambrano said the coyote that was caught in a trap Sunday morning was underweight and had no fear of humans.

Residents in the Timberwalk community and surrounding neighborhood reported several encounters with the coyote last week.

One dog was killed last weekend and a second was snatched while on a walk with the dog's owner Tuesday.

Zambrano set four traps in the area last week, but they were tampered with and had to be replaced.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control said it appears that someone was feeding the coyote.
