MIAMI – A woman was arrested Sunday after she stabbed her daughter with a kitchen knife, police said.
Odalys Rodriguez, 47, and her 18-year-old daughter were arguing at a home on Northwest 60th Avenue when Rodriguez stabbed the teenager in the stomach and shoulder, Miami police Officer Kenia Fallat said.
The daughter, identified Monday as Sheila Rodriguez, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where she was listed in stable condition. Police said she was recovering from her stab wounds.
Claudia Alvarez, who lives next door to Rodriguez, called the incident "surprising and shocking."
Fallat said there had been no prior domestic calls to the home.
Odalys Rodriguez faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence.
