LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Police are searching for a man who shot another man during an argument in a McDonald's parking lot.

It happened after 7 p.m. Friday in the 5500 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderhill.

The two men were having some type of argument. Police said at one point one of the men shot the other at least once.

The victim made his way into the McDonald's, while the shooter ran south on 55th Avenue from Oakland Park Boulevard, police said.

The victim was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in serious condition.

McDonald's owner and operator Brent Upchurch said in a statement that the restaurant's first priority is the safety of its customers and employees.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to the family suffering from this senseless act of violence," Upchurch said in the statement. "As this is an active police investigation, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further except to say that we are cooperating fully with law enforcement and hope sincerely that the perpetrator of this crime is brought swiftly to justice."?
