Juan Carlos Redero was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A man arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash last month in Coral Gables posted bond and is out of jail Saturday.

Police Chief Edward J. Hudak said Juan Carlos Redero was behind the wheel of a gray Nissan Altima when it struck a bicyclist early in the morning March 26 at Bird Road and Granada Boulevard.

Hudak's arrest was announced by police Friday during a news conference.

The victim was identified as Carlos Alberto Suarez, 33, of Mexico. Police said he was living in an efficiency unit nearby.

Redero faces charges of evidence tampering and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

Redero's bond was set at $10,000. He was out of jail Saturday night, according to the Clerk of Courts. His next hearing is set for May 26.
