PLANTATION, Fla. – Police are looking for two men who robbed a Hollywood police officer at gunpoint while he was staying in a hotel in Plantation.

The incident happened about 6:30 a.m. Thursday at a Residence Inn, 130 N. University Drive.

Police said the officer heard a knock on his hotel room door and opened it, thinking it was his wife.

Instead, the officer was met by two black men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Police said the a struggle ensued and the officer was struck in the head with the butt of a pistol. The men then ordered him to lay face down on the ground and tied him up with bed sheets.

Police said the robbers also placed a pillowcase over the officer's head, while they stole cash and other property from the hotel room.

Police said there may be another person involved in the robbery. Two of the men were captured on surveillance video entering the lobby of the hotel prior to the robbery.
