Cameo door man arrested, charged with felony battery bonds out of jail

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A 34-year-old man who was arrested in connection to a beating outside of a night club that happened early New Year's Day has bonded out of jail, Local 10 News has learned.

Cody Quaife, who is a bouncer or door man at Cameo in South Beach, was arrested Friday night and was charged with felony battery.

Youness Adlan, 22, and a friend were at the night club on Washington Avenue.

Witnesses told police Adlan and Quaife were facing each other on the north side of the 200 block of Española Way, adjacent to the night club, when Quaife struck Adlan in the face one time, causing Adlan to fall back and strike his head on the sidewalk.

Police said Quaife walked away without rendering aid. As a result of the incident, Adlan sustained multiple fractures to his skull and remained in a coma Friday.

An attorney representing Quaife called detectives, informing them that Quaife was surrendering himself at the Miami Beach Police Department, according to the arrest affidavit.

Local 10 News' Crime Specialist John Turchin recently met with Adlan's father, who said his son has been in a coma since rescue officials took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital early New Year's morning.

Adlan's dad said his son has had a couple of operations, including one early Friday morning.

"?We greatly appreciate the hard work of the Miami Beach Police Department, the Miami Beach Community and the media that is covering this tragedy. All of their hard work clearly led to the arrest of the individual that attacked Youness," Adlan's family said in a statement.

A $5,000 bond was set for Quaife. Local 10 News has learned he bonded out of jail some time Friday night or Saturday morning.
