MIAMI – Two people were killed Monday after attempting to cross into the express lanes on Interstate 95.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a couple from New Jersey was traveling north in the general purpose lanes when they attempted to cross into the express lanes and drove over the poles.

According to troopers, a car that was already in the express lanes rear-ended the first car and the driver and passenger were killed.
A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash. The conditions of the other drivers are not known at this time.
The express lanes were closed at 9:30 p.m. and were re-opened by 10:15 p.m.
