Don't be surprised if you run into a vampire or two in downtown Miami. Vampires are expected Monday night at the 31st Miami Book Fair International.
Anne Rice -- the author of 32 books including the "Interview with the Vampire," "The Vampire Chronicles" and "Queen of the Damned" -- published "Prince Lestat." When the best selling author arrived to Miami from Canada she posted on Facebook.

"No wonder vampires love this town," she said. It is "so beautiful, so laid back, so lovely."
Her new novel has recaps of the first 12 books of "The Vampire Chronicles" and an appendix of characters, so readers can understand "Children of the Millennia," "Children of the Night," "Children of Satan" and "The Coven of the Articulate."
The plot is based on the idea that humans mistakenly treat Lestat's historical accounts as fiction. It opens with the vampire world in crisis. Gregory, a vampire, explains it in the book.
Lestat "is the only blood drinker truly known in one way or another, to the entire world of the Undead. .?.?. If they haven't read his books, they've seen his little films, or heard his songs."
It is set in the modern day of Internet, laptops and mobile phone apps. Designers of luxury goods such as Versace and Armani are noted. Critics say Rice goes overboard with her detailed descriptions of clothing and decor.
After Miami the author will continue her book tour in Dallas, Los Angeles, Tempe and Palm Springs.
"An Evening With Anne Rice" will be held at 8 p.m. at Miami Dade College's Wolfson campus, 300 NE 2nd Ave., in building 3, room 3210.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on the Miami Book Fair International site.
