The incident happened just at about 4:45 p.m. in the area of Southwest 110th Avenue and 5th Street.

Sweetwater police said the county has been working in this area for months, but it is unclear what led to the 6-inch water main break.

The Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department was called to the scene. The leak was capped after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Traffic was diverted in the area at the time. The roadway reopened Wednesday night.
