Burglars break through wall to steal from Miami GameStop

About $4,000 worth of refurbished games, accessories stolen from Little Havana store

MIAMI – Police are searching for the crooks who stole thousands of dollars worth of refurbished games from a GameStop on Southwest Eighth Street in Little Havana, gaining access through a hole in the wall.

Surveillance video shows the crooks in the act about 4:30 a.m.

"They were swift in picking up those items and getting out enough to miss us when we arrived," Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat told Local 10 News.

Police said they first tried breaking through one part of the wall, only to realize they made a mistake.

"It appears that the people that were trying to break in confused one business for the other, but they were able to make entry into the GameStop," Fallat said.

No description found

They made a hole big enough to fit through and got away with about $4,000 worth of refurbished games, accessories and consoles.

Fallat said it took less than five minutes from the time the alarm sounded until police arrived.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
