FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 64-year-old woman is in critical condition after the car she was driving crashed into a tree.
The crash occurred Thursday afternoon on Port Royale Drive in Fort Lauderdale.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Timothy Heiser said firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the woman, who was pinned under the passenger's compartment.
The woman was taken to Broward Health North. Her identity was not immediately known.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
