According to a Boynton Beach police report, Wertz and the woman "were having a disagreement over women's rights." The woman wanted to end the argument, so she went to her bedroom to get away, but he continued to scream at her. That prompted her to tell Wertz she was ending the relationship.

A short time later, the woman heard a high pitch coming from the living room, entered the room and saw Wertz "squeezing the rabbit and punching it," the report said.

Wertz was hitting the rabbit so hard that blood was coming from the rabbit's face, the report said.

The woman pushed Wertz away from the rabbit and began kicking him, the report said.

When Wertz saw her calling 911, he grabbed her and threw her across the room, the report said.
