Soccer takes over Sun Life Stadium, Beckham spotted in Miami

David Beckham seen at park, restaurant

MIAMI – A different kind of football took over Sun Life Stadium on Saturday as David Beckman was recently spotted in Miami.

England and Honduras faced off in a pre-World Cup soccer game. Once again the sport is making headlines, getting fans pumped in South Florida.

One guest of honor at the stadium, Local 10 is told, was none other than Beckham. The soccer star-turned businessman is taking his shot at politics, mingling with South Florida fans to bring his stadium plans to life.

The star was reportedly seen in Jose Marti Park in Little Havana. Southern Region, a soccer organization, spread the news on Twitter.

A short time after that, Beckham was also spotted at Versailles Restaurant in Miami.

He is also expected to attend the soccer game between England and Honduras at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Beckham's team thinks downtown Miami is the perfect place to build a Major League Soccer stadium.

The stadium would be worth millions of dollars and seat at least 20,000 people.

While some fans are excited about the plans, it's got its share of opposition, citing traffic and environmental concerns building next to the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Beckham already moved his proposed stadium from PortMiami to the boat slip, insisting he wants to bring soccer to the heart of Miami.
