In Broward County, Dylan Olster has spelled his way to Washington.
The 14-year-old won Broward County's annual spelling bee and will now go to represent against kids from all over the country.
"Usually you need a couple of years to really get your stuff together," Olster said about how much preparation goes into this event.
He's won smaller spelling bees before and said leading up to the national competition he has generally studied two hours on weekdays and on weekends studies a lot more.
When asked about being at the podium under pressure, he replied, "The worst part is when you're sitting in the chair waiting to be called on for a word."
