PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. ā A Pembroke Pines middle school was evacuated Tuesday morning because of a bomb threat.
Pembroke Pines police said Silver Trail Middle School on Sheridan Street was evacuated about 9:30 a.m.
Police said the bomb threat was sent via email overnight.
After searching the school, police determined there was no bomb and students were allowed to return to their classes about 11:15 a.m.
"I was kind of worried at the beginning, though," sixth-grade student Kevin Russell told Local 10. "I didn't know what to do at first. Some people said it was like a fire drill, but then later on ... I heard it was, like, a lockdown."
Some parents came to the school early to pick up their children.
Police were investigating who sent the threat.
