MIAMI – A Virginia man arrested in South Carolina said he kidnapped his mother because she didn't want to move with him to Miami, according to video obtained by WWBT-TV in Richmond, Va.
Regelio Lopez, 20, is accused of kidnapping his mother and stuffing her in the trunk of his Cadillac.
The dashboard camera video shows South Carolina troopers pull over the Cadillac on Interstate 95 last month.
In the video, Lopez tells troopers he was headed to Miami and put his mother in the trunk because she did not want to go with him.
"What made you do that?" a trooper is heard asking in the video.
"I was alone," Lopez replies.
