MIAMI – Two women were killed after a shooting in the area of Northwest 65th Street and 12th Court just after midnight Sunday.
Responding officers found four women who had suffered gunshot wounds about 12:18 a.m. One of the women lived in the area, and the other three came to buy drugs, said Miami Police Chief Manuel Orosa.
"An individual who took them to buy drugs had a target on his back," he said.
Orosa said the gunman opened fire on a car, hitting the four women. Police identified the slain women as 18-year-old Tiarra Ashonda Grant and her brother's girlfriend, 22-year-old Shalaunda Williams.
"These girls had no idea this guy had been targeted by another group, and it's unfortunate," said Orosa.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
