MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Joshua Williams is an energetic 12-year-old boy with an ambitious goal: to stomp out hunger.
Local 10 caught up with him at the Whole Foods store on Miami Beach, where he was shopping for families in need of a helping hand.
"I'm really lucky that i am able to help out," Joshua said. "Lucky that I've been doing it for a long time and that my parents believed in me.
His parents believed in their son so much that they helped him start his own foundation -- Joshua's Heart -- when he was just 5 years old.
The objective is to end hunger. Joshua does that by partnering with stores around South Florida. He and his friends then collect and organize healthy, nutritious food for families who need it.
Joshua is passionate about his mission, and those on the receiving end are both grateful and amazed.
Local 10 tagged along recently when Joshua and his friends delivered food to a woman in Miami.
"Joshua is doing a beautiful thing, and I commend him for that, said Altagrace Cherenfant.
"I feel great," Joshua said. "I know I'm doing the right thing. It's natural for me. Helping is natural."
