SANFORD, Fla. – When a neighborhood crime watch volunteer called police's non-emergency line Feb. 26, 2012, Seminole County 911 dispatcher Sean Noffke answered.
Noffke told the Sanford caller, George Zimmerman, not to follow "the suspicious" man.
"We don't need you to do that," Noffke said in the recorded conversation.
During his testimony June 24, Noffke added that he was trained to avoid giving callers direct orders to avoid liability.
Noffke also said that when he asked Zimmerman "which way is he running?" he did not intend that to mean for him to get off the car. Nonetheless, the recorded noises implied at one point that Zimmerman was no longer in his car.
Zimmerman, 29, admitted that he followed Trayvon Martin. If he is convicted of second-degree murder, he could be sentenced to life in prison.
