OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Christian Vazquez, 4, is staying strong after he broke his femur in a car crash two days ago.
Christian won't be able to walk for the next eight weeks as his legs recover in a body cast.

"The car blew up. I hit the wall," he said.
"Honestly, the first thing I could think of is, is Christian and my baby," said Kelli Bellassai, Christian's mother.
Bellassai held back tears when talking about the crash, which left her on crutches. She said as she passed the Oakland Park Boulevard exit on Interstate 95 on Wednesday, she put on her blinker, checked both ways and started to change lanes, but then a motorcyclist came out of nowhere, forcing her to swerve and crash into the median.
"Christian had blood all over his shirt, and Nicholas was crying hysterically," said Bellassai.
The Florida Highway Patrol is on the case, trying to track down the driver who sped away after the crash.
Sgt. Mark Wysocky said investigators are seeing an increase in motorcycle-related crashes, and it's a challenge for them to get drivers to slow down.
"They drive very aggressive, high speeds, excess of 100 miles an hour. The thing that they don't realize is when people attempt to change lanes or something like that, they don't realize how fast that motorcycle is approaching them," said Wysocky.
"It's just, honestly, it's hard. You watch out for motorcycles, but motorcycles need to watch out for regular vehicles, as well. You never know who is in the car. God forbid if something happened to one of my boys," said Bellassai.
