Dead rodent found at Miami bakery; roach infestations shut down 2 South Florida restaurants

MIAMI – Inspectors found serious health and safety violations at three restaurants in South Florida.

At Victoria Bakery in Miami, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services discovered 14 violations, including a dead rodent on the floor next to the fryer and heavy grease and dough buildup on equipment.

A stop-use order was issued for the bakery’s processing area and equipment following a re-inspection.

Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ordered Barracuda Bar & Seafood in Deerfield Beach to shut down after finding 13 violations, including widespread live and dead roach activity throughout the kitchen, filthy ceiling tiles and vents, and a lack of soap at the handwashing sink.

A follow-up inspection found ongoing roach problems.

At Sapido Restaurant and Café in Fort Lauderdale, inspectors shut the restaurant down after finding live and dead roaches near a cooler and expired required employee training for all staff.

Approximately one live roach observed crawling on wall underneath cleaned utensil rack above triple sink in ware wash area.”

“Ceiling tiles and vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance throughout kitchen and prep area.”
