Paradise Café and The House on the River were both ordered shut due to serious health violations, including pest infestations, improper food storage, and unsanitary conditions.
Paradise Café, located inside the Holiday Inn, had 25 violations, including live and dead roaches, mold in the ice machine, temperature abuse of food, and repeated cleanliness issues on equipment and surfaces.
The House on the River, inspected due to a complaint, had five violations, including live roaches and small flying insects, mold in the ice machine, standing water, and misuse of a handwashing sink.
Both establishments were allowed to reopen after mandated cleanups and re-inspections.
