Multiple parades and events are set to be held Monday in South Florida to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

MIAMI-DADE
Miami: MLK Parade and Family Festival
The 48th annual MLK Day Parade in Miami will take place along Northwest 54th Street, from Northwest Seventh Avenue to 32nd Avenue, following the same route King traveled during his visits to Miami. The parade will conclude with a Family Festival at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park.
Street closures in the area began at 7:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and last for 2 1/2 hours.
Miami-Dade: Fifth annual MLK Unity Bike Ride & Day of Service
The Unity Bike Ride will be routed through key areas of Miami-Dade County, starting at Sgt. Joseph Delancy Park, located at 14450 Boggs Drive.
The ride is being hosted by Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chairman Kionne L. McGhee, in collaboration with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation, local leaders, and community organizations.
Miami: Annual MLK Community Breakfast
The City of Miami and Miami-Dade County will host their annual MLK Community Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the MLK EDC Canopy, located at 6100 NW Seventh Ave. in Miami.
Opa-locka: MLK Day of Service
More than 200 volunteers will join City Year Miami for a day of service at Golden Glades Elementary School to honor King’s legacy.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Golden Glades Elementary School, located at 16520 NW 28th Ave.
BROWARD COUNTY
Fort Lauderdale: MLK Parade
Street closures begin at 7 a.m. for the annual MLK Parade in Fort Lauderdale. The parade -- a march for non-violence -- starts at 9:30 a.m.
The King Holiday Celebration Parade departs from Sistrunk Boulevard and Northwest Fifth Avenue, then heads west along Sistrunk Boulevard, and then north on Northwest 15th Avenue, ending at Carter Park.
Pembroke Pines: MLK Day Celebration
The City of Pembroke Pines invites the public to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from 10 a.m. to noon at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way.
Miramar: MLK Parade/Celebration
The City of Miramar will host a parade, festival and a special musical performance.
The parade will be held at 11 a.m. at Sherman Circle and will be followed by a festival that will last until 3 p.m.
The festival will be held at Lakeshore Park, located at 8501 S. Sherman Circle.
