Tracking Santa Claus before Christmas Eve, ‘Noche Buena,’ Haitian ‘Reveillon’

MIAMI – While The North American Aerospace Defense Command is preparing to track Santa Claus from 4 a.m. to midnight on Christmas Eve, Local 10 News has followed his busy agenda. There have been sightings in South Florida, and unconfirmed rumors that a spokesman from the Secret North Pole Association of Elves said Santa was looking forward to the food in Miami-Dade County.

Some Haitian families in Miami Gardens will celebrate “Reveillon” with “tassot cabrit,” a fried goat meat. “Noche Buena” means Cubans in Hialeah and Nicaraguans in Sweetwater will serve “lechón.” Venezuelans in Doral will have “Hallacas” wrapped in banana leaves. Colombians in Kendall and Mexicans in Homestead deep-fried “buñuelos.”
