MIAMI – Art lovers are in for a treat as the pop-up Balloon Museum, a unique immersive experience that first wowed crowds in Europe, has made its way to Wynwood!
The museum, which features 21 rooms filled with various works of art, offers an experience unlike any other, with installations tailored specifically for its South Florida audience.
Exhibition Manager Jesus Gonzalez told Local 10′s Alexis Frazier that the art at the Balloon Museum, located at 318 NW 23rd St., interacts with visitors in unexpected ways.
“Depending on your movement, the artwork responds to you,” Gonzalez said.
Among the highlights is the “Spiritus Sonata” room, where art literally sings to you.
Visitors are encouraged to move around, triggering different sounds and reactions from the artwork.
Another Miami-exclusive installation is the “Canopy Room.” It’s one of the most playful spaces in the museum, where guests can power the art using a bicycle.
“The energy you provide to the artwork is what you’re going to get back,” said Gonzalez.
The museum’s largest installation, the “Hyperstellar Room,” features 100,000 balloons on the ceiling and a pool filled with 1.2 million balls, creating an otherworldly environment. A dazzling light show completes the experience, transporting visitors to another dimension.
For those who love to capture the moment, the museum offers several Instagram-worthy spots, including the “I Love Miami” booth, a favorite among visitors.
“This room is an Instagrammers paradise!” said Frazier when getting a tour of the museum.
The Balloon Museum will be open until Oct. 6. Local 10 viewers can click here for information on how to purchase tickets.
