FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The purrfect day for some goodwill exercise with your fur buddy is only a few weeks away.
On Saturday, Feb. 3, the VCA Walk for the Animals will be taking place at Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park.

The event, emceed by Local 10 morning co-anchor and animal advocate Jacey Birch, will mark 34 years of South Floridians coming together to support the Humane Society of Broward County.
The one-mile walk will feature vendor booths and entertainment. Prizes will be awarded according to fundraising level beginning at $150 with an official event T-shirt. Those who raise $1,000 or more will have their dog entered in a contest for a chance to be the 2025 Walk Cover Dog.
Funds raised will allow the Humane Society of Broward County to continue caring for the thousands of homeless animals that come to its Fort Lauderdale shelter annually. The nonprofit also offers low-cost vaccinations, educational programs, surrender prevention and more.
