FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The daughter of "Black-ish" actor Laurence Fishburne was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash Saturday in Fort Lauerdale.
Montana Fishburne, 25, was driving a white Toyota Corolla north on Interstate 95 near the Oakland Park Boulevard exit shortly before 2 a.m. when her car rear-ended a white Land Rover that had slowed down to avoid another crash, according to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report.
A state trooper wrote in the report that Fishburne smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from her mouth. The report also said that her speech was slurred and she had glassy eyes.
The trooper "noticed an open bottle of wine and the two front seats splashed with a purple liquid."
Fishburne consented to a field-sobriety test, but she "would not do as instructed and (began) the exercises before the command was given," the report said.
According to the report, Fishburne had trouble keeping her balance during the walk-and-turn exercise, walked 27 steps forward instead of nine as instructed and lost count on several occasions during the one-leg stand, almost falling to the ground.
Fishburne is the daughter of Emmy Award-winning actor Laurence Fishburne, who played Morpheus in "The Matrix" trilogy and is a recurring cast member in the ABC sitcom "Black-ish."
