The auction started last Wednesday and was hosted by Market Auctions, which is based in Palm Beach County.
According to a news release from the company, Tekashi’s extravagant jewelry collection initially attracted the most attention from bidders, but it was his RIAA-certified platinum record plaques that eventually sold for three to four times their projected values.
“This was the sleeper hit of the auction,” said Jacob Kodner, Managing Partner of Market Auctions. “Collectors and fans alike recognized these plaques as irreplaceable pieces of music history.”
According to a catalog of the items that sold, Tekashi’s 14-karat, two-tone “Yailin” diamond pendant necklace, which he wore when he was dating Dominican rapper and singer Yailin La Mas Viral, sold for a whopping $29,000.
An Hermes Birkin bag sold for $18,500.
Meanwhile, his record plaques sold from $3,200 to $14,250.
The auction came after the IRS seized his personal belongings last year due to unpaid taxes.
According to Newsweek, Tekashi’s financial difficulties, despite his success in the music industry, resulted in an April 2024 raid on his home in Lake Worth Beach and the seizure of numerous valuables.
The auction also came two months after Tekashi, who real name is Daniel Hernandez, filed a $1 million lawsuit against a South Florida gym over a vicious attack that sent him to the hospital two years ago.
The attack was captured on cellphone video back in 2023 at an LA Fitness in Lake Worth.
