Frost Museum’s science ed star wants learning to be fun

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Downtown Miami counts on Analisa Duran’s love of teaching.

The avid scuba driver and graduate of Florida International University and the University of Florida said science education has to be fun to make an impact and she can prove it.

The FIU doctoral candidate’s experience at the seaquarium, the county’s sea turtle program, and as a naturalist, climate resilience leader, Marine Animal Rescue Society member, and a Florida Hawksbill Project volunteer prepared her for her current mission.

Duran serves her community as the Frost Museum’s Knight director of science education, and she wants everyone to experience the museum’s Laser Evenings, the Journey to Space, The Dig, and more.
