Bestselling author V.E. Schwab agrees to 7-figure book deal. Her next novel comes out in 2025

In this 2018 photo provided by Victoria "V.E." Schwab, the author poses for a portrait. Schwab, who writes adult and young adult novels, says she doesn't change her style or vocabulary: The difference is in her mindset. For her Shades of Magic series and other books, she inhabits her 17-year-old self, a pretty angry teenager. For The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue," an adult story coming in October about a woman who endures and is ignored for centuries, she is closer to the person she is now. ( Jenna Maurice/Victoria V.E. Schwab, 36, is known for such series as “Shades of Magic” and “Cassidy Blake" and for her million-selling novel, “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue,” about a French woman blessed with immortality and cursed with being forgotten by all who meet her.

In a statement released Wednesday, Schwab noted that she had written about supervillains, devils and “magic across multiple worlds” and thanked Tor, her longtime publisher, for supporting her. She called her new book “my bones, blood, my heart.”
