CULVER CITY, Calif. – You might have seen the moment right here on Local 10.
A Florida man went on Thursday night’s episode of “Wheel of Fortune” and, right off the bat, made an incorrect guess that left everyone in the studio and, presumably, everyone at home, gasping.
During the show’s first toss-up puzzle of the night, Tavaris Williams, of Port St. Lucie, had to guess a phrase.
When he rang in, the letters on the board were: _ _ _ _ I _ T _ E B _ _ T!
His guess? “Right in the butt!”
Amid gasps and laughter, another contestant exclaimed “What?!” as host Pat Sajak informed Williams he made an incorrect guess with a simple “....no.”
Sajak, 77, is retiring from “Wheel of Fortune” on June 7 after decades as host. Longtime media personality Ryan Seacrest, 49, is slated to succeed him.
The iconic game show’s 8,000th episode airs Friday at 7 p.m. on Local 10.
