Comedian 'Weird Al' Yankovic to make Fort Lauderdale stop during 'Mandatory World Tour'

Controversial parody artist's schedules S. Fla. performance

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Alfred Matthew Yankovic, better known as Weird Al, will be coming to Fort Lauderdale's Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

"Enlist in the greatest musical spectacle ever seen ... It will rock your world. Be there. It's mandatory," the 55-year-old comedian, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife and teenage daughter, said on YouTube.

His 14th album, Mandatory Fun, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August. He featured several comedic music videos parodying popular tracks like Pharrell's "Happy" as "Tacky," and Lorde's "Royals" as "Foil." They all had viral success.

His "Mandatory World Tour" begins May 12 in Las Vegas, and his only South Florida stop is Aug. 15. Other Florida stops include Orlando Aug. 11, Clearwater Aug. 13, Melbourne Aug. 14 and Jacksonville Aug. 16. Tickets won't be for sale until Jan. 27.
