MIAMI – South Florida educator Brittany Affolter can add a new title to her resume.

Affolter received the most votes after a months-long search in the Royal Caribbean Godmother Search for the company's new Harmony of the Seas.
A manager with Teach For America, Affolter is being recognized for her incredible contributions to the education of South Florida youth with a grant of $25,000 donated by Royal Caribbean.
The grant will go to Teach for America Miami-Dade.
On top of that, Brittany will receive the honor of becoming the Godmother of the world’s largest and most innovative cruise ship – Harmony of the Seas.
As Godmother and in keeping with the historic maritime tradition, Brittany will have the privilege to officially name the ship and in that bless the vessel and all those who sail onboard, during the prestigious naming ceremony at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, FL on November 10, 2016.
Some of the students whose lives Brittany has changed will be invited to attend as her guests.
Brittany will take part in the inaugural cruise and then be invited back to enjoy a seven-night Caribbean voyage on he Harmony of the Seas.
Affolter was one of three finalists chosen among hundreds who were nominated. The final three were then voted on by the general public, with Brittany coming away the winner.
