Hooters, local radio host team up to help kids battling cancer

(Hooters)

As part of Hooters’ “Friendraiser” program, on August 15, customers are invited to visit two restaurant locations and help provide financial relief for families with kids undergoing cancer treatment.

The Weston and Sunrise Hooters are teaming up with iHeart’s Big 105.9 radio personality Doc Reno to raise funds for Reno’s My Family Matters Foundation. Customers need only mention the Friendraiser to the server at the end of the meal, and 20 percent of the food and beverage sales will be donated to the foundation.

“I am excited for the two Friendraisers at Hooters and the potential to raise money to help parents who have a sick child with their expenses,” said Reno. “I can’t think of a better way to raise awareness with two live broadcasts that day to support our cause. We want to make a positive impact and help kids.”

Reno will be broadcasting his afternoon drive show at Hooters of Weston on August 15 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. His colleague, Amelia, will broadcast her show from the Hooters of Sunrise earlier that day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Hooters of Weston is located at 2282 Weston Road in Weston. Hooters of Sunrise is located at 3805 North University Drive in Sunrise.

“We have supported the My Family Matters Foundation for their efforts to help local children over the past several years,” said Hooters of South Florida Director of Marketing Kristi Quarles. “We appreciate everyone’s efforts in helping raise funds in our community to help children who are affected by cancer.”

Hooters created the Friendraiser program for local charitable organizations to raise additional funds for the community. For more information visit https://hootersflorida.com/friendraisers/.
