Woman bitten by alligator at South Florida wildlife refuge

Victim taken to hospital with leg injury

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – A woman was bitten by an alligator Thursday morning at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said the victim, Kelsey Pollack, 31, was taken to an area hospital with a wound to her leg.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Pollack was bitten in the leg after accidentally stepping on the gator while doing contract work at the refuge.

She is expected to be fine. 

The FWC is investigating the incident.
