PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Former Councilman Manny Cid received 77 percent of the vote in a runoff election Tuesday night, beating incumbent Michael Pizzi - who was running for his third term.
Cid, 33, was in the midst of his first term as councilman when he decided to run for mayor.

Pizzi, 53, had been arrested in 2014 on federal bribery charges, which he later beat in court.
After his acquittal, Pizzi sued to regain the mayoral seat from Wayne Slaton, and then sued the town to be reimbursed for his legal fees.
The lawsuit over the legal fees has yet to be settled.
Pizzi received 22 percent of the vote during the runoff election.
