PALM CITY, Fla. – A farm worker in Palm City is recovering after an alligator bit him on the thigh while he was working, according to deputies.
Martin County Sheriff’s deputies said the pepper farm worker was working when the agitated gator lunged and grabbed hold of him.

The victim was able to break free, but not before the gator caused significant injuries to his leg.
The 9-foot, 4-inch gator was located and removed from the area. The worker was taken to a nearby hospital where he is receiving treatment for the bite.
