DAVIE, Fla. – A McDonald’s employee spoke exclusively to Local 10 News about a customer who attacked her, seemingly out of nowhere. Daniel Suarez-Tellez, 21, bonded out of the Broward County Jail Wednesday after Davie police said he was seen on surveillance video assaulting a restaurant employee. It happened at a Davie McDonald’s just before 11 p.m. Monday. A customer attacked a McDonalds employee and was arrested. I’m like, ‘Sir, why are you doing this?’ And he is like, ‘Y’all took too long with my food.’”AdAllen said the customer kept yanking at the door.

From now through Aug. 16, customers who purchase food at McDonalds restaurants can participate in their Round-Up fundraiser to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. South Floridians can help by offering to Round-Up their order total to the nearest dollar and donate the change to RMHC. Another way to support RMHC when visiting McDonalds is by making a $1, $3 or $5 donation. Some might say the Round-Up fundraiser is an opportunity to eat fast food with zero guilt and loads of satisfaction.

Some fast food restaurants which already relied more heavily on drive-thru and takeout have been slow to reopen dining rooms. The company distributed a 59-page rule book that franchisees must follow as they reopen dining rooms. Restaurant Brands CEO Jose Cil says opening dining rooms helps customers feel more confident as they slowly re-establish their routines. NPD analyst David Portalatin says full-service restaurants have more issues than fast food restaurants when it comes to reopening dining rooms.

________________________ON AGAIN, OFF AGAIN: Ford temporarily halted production at two assembly plants Tuesday and Wednesday after three workers tested positive for the novel coronavirus. On Wednesday a worker at the pickup truck plant in Dearborn, Michigan, tested positive for COVID-19, Ford confirmed. On Tuesday, Ford temporarily closed its Chicago SUV factory twice after two workers tested positive. Lear confirmed that production was suspended after an employee told the company of a positive COVID-19 test. The UFCW, which represents 900,000 grocery workers, said the number of infections is likely far higher across the industry.
