The Leave It to Layron team was invited to go undercover with Miami-Dade detectives as they conducted a sting operation. Two undercover officers posing as unsuspecting homeowners in need of remodeling help started calling various contractors to the home. Investigators say the contractors they’re after are not licensed to perform any of the work they're bidding for. In Miami-Dade, the Contractor Licensing and Contractor Enforcement sections of the Regulatory and Economic Resources department investigates complaints involving contractors with or without licenses.

He said he is a member of the United Government Security Officers Local 270, the union which represents more than 200 security guards standing watch at federal facilities across South Florida, including the Claude Pepper Federal Building in downtown Miami. The guard we spoke with said the surveillance equipment at Claude Pepper was upgraded in 2015 and worked for about a year. You can't just walk into the Claude Pepper facility. As such, FPS follows the standards established by the Interagency Security Committee for the various security and countermeasure aspects of a Federal facility.

Pitre said the utility poles that are outside of his home, near the corner of Southwest 168th Street and 122nd Avenue, near Zoo Miami are totally rotted. He has seen the wind sway a teetering utility pole back and forth and has felt fear. Pitre believed that if the poles cause someone's death or injury it will be because of the their negligence, so he called Leave It To Layron. AT&T worked with Florida Power & Light to transfer its equipment and the job got done.
