DETROIT – Hyundai is adding about 471,000 SUVs to a September U.S. recall for an electrical short in a computer that could cause fires. And the company is warning owners to park the SUVs outdoors until they are repaired. The latest recall covers certain model-year 2016 through 2018, and additional 2020 through 2021, Hyundai Tucson SUVs. The company said it's aware of a dozen fires but no injuries related to the recalled vehicles. In September the South Korean automaker recalled about 180,000 Tucson SUVs in the U.S. from 2019 through 2021 to fix the same problem.

WEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Four people were killed and three others injured after a crash early New Year’s morning. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the violent crash happened at Northwest 79th Avenue and Flagler Street. According to FHP, the four victims, one woman and three men, were traveling in a blue Hyundai Elantra. FHP is looking into alcohol/drugs and excessive speed as a contributing factor in the crash. Officials said they are not releasing any names of the victims or those involved in the crash at this time.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old was killed after being ejected from his vehicle during a 3-car crash that happened early Sunday morning on State Road 874. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the teen was driving a blue pickup truck when it collided with a red Hyundai sedan. The crash caused the teen to lose control of the pickup and collide into a black Honda sedan, FHP said. The truck then struck a guardrail before traveling off the road and overturning several times. The teen was thrown from the pickup during the crash.

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Multiple law enforcement agencies were conducting an extensive search for two suspects in Miramar late Tuesday night. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Miami-Dade Police initiated the chase of a black Hyundai following a call in reference to the alleged robbery. The suspect, or suspects, fled, leading police on a chase from State Road 836 to the Florida Turnpike and up to I-75. Authorities apprehended the driver in Miramar and have him in custody, but a search continues for the passenger. Police have yet to say if there were any injures reported at the Shell Gas Station in Miami-Dade.

A white former Philadelphia police officer was charged Friday with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a Black man after a high-speed car chase nearly three years ago. Four other officers who were on the scene and had taken cover did not fire their weapons, according to a grand jury presentment. The grand jury said Ruch shot Plowden in the head without justification as Plowden looked “dazed and lost on the sidewalk." According to the grand jury, Ruch and his partner began following Plowden and asked police dispatch to check the registration of his car. Ruch fired the fatal shot just 6 to 8 seconds after getting to the crash scene, the grand jury said.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. A driver has died after being involved in a crash Friday morning with a semi-tractor-trailer, authorities confirmed. According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue dispatchers, the call came in as a vehicle that had rear-ended a trailer. Miami-Dade police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta later confirmed that the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Local 10 News was at the scene as a yellow tarp covered a portion of a blue Hyundai. The truck driver was not injured.
