OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred last week in Oakland Park and left one woman dead. According to authorities, the incident was reported shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of North Andrews Avenue. St. Louis said the driver never stopped to help Vazquez. A witness who heard the impact but didn’t see the crash told detectives that they saw a black four-door sedan heading north on North Andrews Avenue after the crash. MIAMI A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash that happened in Miami. According to police, a person was hit by a car and killed on Northeast 79th Street, just east of US-1. The driver of the car never stopped, police said. The eastbound and westbound lanes on 79th Street were closed at the intersection for US-1 due to the accident. Police have yet to release a description of the vehicle from the crash, or if they have any information on who the driver may be.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – After crashing into a home, a man jumped out of a blue Saturn Sky convertible -- which broke through a wall and was halfway into the living room. A frightened mother ran outside saying her 2-month-old baby could have been killed in the Monday crash in Pompano Beach. “They were holding down the driver, so he couldn’t flee, but he was able to get up and run away,” said Sandra King, a spokeswoman for the Pompano Beach Fire Department. King said the driver was moving at a “high rate of speed” along Northwest 17th Court when he lost control of the car near Northwest Second Terrace. City of Pompano Beach officials deemed the home as an “unsafe structure.”

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Jeanette Berrios, a mother of three, was walking home after work on Saturday in deep south Miami-Dade, but she never made it. Detectives found Berrios, 50, dead on a cold and stormy early morning on Southwest 304th Street near South Dixie Highway. “It was raining so bad that day, and I remember that day being scared in my house,” said Christine Sotomayor, Berrio’s niece. “And now, I am wondering how scared was she, when she was there. Berrios’ family is asking the public for help with the cost of the funeral, and they are also asking anyone with information about the fatal hit-and-run crash to call 305-471-8477.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching Sunday for the hit-and-run driver who ran a red light and plowed into a car, killing three members of a family. The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened late Saturday in Palm Harbor, north of St. Petersburg. That caused the Nissan to spin, fully ejecting its driver and one of the passengers and partially eject the other. The victims’ names were not released, but they were identified as a 65-year-old Bruce Johnson, 49-year-old Lisa Johngon and an 18-year-old Glenworth Johnson, all from Clearwater. LAKELAND, Fla. – Investigators are searching for the driver involved in a Florida hit-and-run crash that left a 3-year-old boy dead over the weekend. The crash happened Sunday afternoon on a stretch of Interstate 4 between Orlando and Lakeland, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. A car with six occupants was traveling east on I-4 when another car hit it while changing lanes. The first car’s driver lost control, spun into the median and hit a guardrail, FHP said. The other car’s driver fled the scene.
