POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Deputies are conducting an investigation after finding three bodies in a Broward County home.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in a retirement community in the 300 block of South Golf Boulevard in Pompano Beach just after 7 p.m. Wednesday to conduct a welfare check.
After fire rescue crews helped deputies force entry into the home, three people were found shot to death.
Homicide units were called to begin an investigation.
Authorities have yet to identify the people found inside the home.
Neighbors told Local 10 News’ Samiar Nefzi that a family of three – a father, mother and son – live in the home, and that their cars have not moved in the driveway for several days.
“The whole thing is just shocking,” neighbor Lauren Gultz said.
Gultz, who lives next door to the victims’ home, said the family has lived in the home that they had been renting for about a year.
“You live next to people for a year and you have no idea,” Gultz said.
On Thursday, Animal Control was spotted removing a cat from the home.
While BSO hasn’t said whether the deaths were a murder-suicide scenario, they confirmed that they aren’t looking for a shooter.
