HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A week after a violent wreck killed four people in Miami Gardens, a fifth victim has died from her injuries.
Family members say 13-year-old Ka’Myra Graham died Saturday.
“She loved her people. Everybody loved Ka’Myra. Everybody,” Jermaine Davis, an uncle to two of the victims, said.
Her siblings, 10-year-old Ireanna Johnson, 10-year-old Kamari Graham, and 8-year-old Azariah McCall were killed on impact in the Feb. 8 crash. So was their grandmother, Rosa Mary Jones.
“We were praying and hoping that she would come around. But now they’re all together now, they’re in heaven, that’s where they’re going,” grandmother Margaret Cade said.
Seven-year-old Cyrus Rankin, a friend of the children, is still being treated at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood.
The siblings’ mother, Donika Johnson, is also recovering, unaware of the tragedy that has befallen her family.
“I just really hope she pushes through,” Davis said.
Police say a speeding drunk driver slammed into a white car with the victims inside. It was crushed against the SUV in front of them. Officers arrested Antonio Wilcox, 25, of Naples, and said he was driving 99 mph at the moment of impact.
A trip to the movies to celebrate Kamari’s birthday went horribly wrong.
“I’m so hurt I can hardly. It hurts me so bad, those kids,” Cade said.
Family members are now having to deal with the burden of final expenses. They have set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money.
