OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows the moments before a delivery driver was shot and killed in Opa-locka.

The victim, identified by Miami-Dade police as 40-year-old Alejandro Linares, was delivering groceries on June 8 at the Mirage at Sailboat Cove Apartments, located in the 1700 block of Northwest 142nd Lane.

A woman told Local 10 News he was delivering her son’s graduation gift from Walmart.

Video shows Linares standing at the passenger side of his car before being approached by a man prosecutors identified as 22-year-old Dawayen Anton Bendross.

After several minutes, Bendross reportedly pulled out a gun and fired off a shot before running away.

Linares is seen stumbling to the ground afterwards.

Bendross faces a second degree murder charge and has been accused of battery while in jail.

His next court hearing is scheduled for Aug. 8.
