According to police, the victim was driving his grey Honda CRV when the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Leandre Snow, approached him with a knife in his hand and got in the passenger side, demanding the victim drive south on US-1 and then south on Card Sound Road.

After then demanding the victim pull over, police said Snow beat him unconscious before taking off with his vehicle.

Police said the suspect regained consciousness and a Good Samaritan took him to a nearby gas station, where he called for help.

Officers later attempted to pull over Snow in the victim’s Honda CRV, but he took off and ditched the vehicle while it was still running, leaving it to crash into a parked car along the 700 block of West Palm Drive in Homestead, police said.

After taking Snow into custody, police said they located a silver knife in his pocket.

Police said he told officers he was under the influence of drugs and was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
