WARNING: Video shows police officer shooting murder suspect, prosecutors decide not to charge cop

DORAL, Fla. – New video obtained by Local 10 News shows police confronting a suspect accused of stabbing a woman to death and running her over.

It comes after the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office cleared the police officer who shot him.

The suspect, Axel Ordonez-Diaz, 48, survived the January 2023 shooting in southwest Miami-Dade.

In the video, Ordonez-Diaz is seen beating and stabbing a woman, identified as Claudia Ordonez, outside of a white car.

According to an arrest report, Ordonez-Diaz had dragged her out of the car then went on a rampage, stabbing her several times, even backing up the car and running her over.

Claudia Ordonez did not survive the attack.

Ordonez-Diaz also allegedly rammed that car into the vehicle of a neighbor who had called 911. That neighbor suffered a broken neck.

When Miami-Dade police officers arrive they give Ordonez commands to put his hands up.

But surveillance video shows him running towards the officer and that officer responds with force, shooting and wounding him.

Ordonez-Diaz is facing charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

He remains at the Metro West Detention Center awaiting trial.
