DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A boy who appeared to be around 12 months old was found “wandering alone” Monday morning in Dania Beach, authorities said.
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carey Codd, deputies responded to the 200 block of Southwest Second Terrace in Dania Beach shortly after 10:45 a.m. after receiving a call about the child.

Codd said the boy was found safe and unharmed.
A woman who identified herself as the baby’s mother later arrived in the area, Codd said.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel transported the boy to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
Codd confirmed that deputies are in contact with the Florida Department of Children and Families regarding the incident.
The investigation is ongoing and it’s unclear at this time whether the mother will face charges.
No other details were immediately released.
